What Are Chakras?

Chakras are spiritual energy centres in the body which are connected to both your physical and spiritual being and act as gateways between the two.  There are seven major chakras and many more minor ones and each is associated with a different part of your personality, psychology, physical being and spiritual development.  By healing blocked and damaged chakras you can become happier, healthier and more fulfilled. http://sett.com/buddhist-mindfulness-meditation

Chakra means wheel in sanskrit and some people see them in their minds eye as spinning colourful wheels although they are variously described as flowers and balls of light.  They can be healed through meditating and leading a holistic lifestyle; i.e. doing all the things you know you ought to be and definitely not doing any of the ones you know you shouldn't.  www.innominati.tumblr.com

Chakra meditation involves visualising the chakra and allowing it to grow and heal rather than forcing it to.  Yoga and crystals can be used to boost their growth and your life.  Diet and exercise are important too and in fact there are foods which are paired with each chakra so you can help them to heal.  Specific yoga exercises exist for each as well.  Being honest, kind and loving are all very important in keeping your chakras, and those of the people around you light and healthy.

What Is Meditation?

What Is Meditation?
What Is Meditation?
Meditation usually consists of focussing the mind on one thing, whilst not thinking. The subject could be the breath, a chakra (energy centre associated with the body) or a candle flame.  Daily practice for at least a few minutes a day can give widespread benefits including increased happiness, centredness and wellbeing, along with reduced depression, anxiety, irritability, anger and frustration.

There may be health benefits associated with a reduction in pulse and blood pressure although there is no strong scientific link between meditation and health.  The excellent blog at http://innominati.tumblr.com/ has instruction and guidance on meditation and interdimensional travel.

Many people meditate to reach a state of enlightenment which is a permanent state involving subtle changes in the personality where the person becomes the best that they can be in many areas of their lives, radiate positivity and have a strongly positive effect on people's lives.  This is the goal of meditation for many people and is the subject of much spiritual teaching.  The site http://www.sett.com/buddhist-mindfulness-meditation has more information on meditation.

The way in which enlightenment is often described can be misleading an difficult to understand.  This is because the way in manifests is different in everybody and many of the changes are subtle.

Extracts from 'The Pier';

' I was floating near the middle of an underwater arena, still about 10 metres from the bottom and twenty metres  from the wreck.  About 15 divers swum over it, popping in and out of doorways, bubbles escaping through rusted hatches giving away their whereabouts.  I spent some time looking around and a few minutes standing on my head and looking at everything upside-down which was fun, and quite difficult as my buoyancy constantly tried to flip me over.  John told me I had nitrogen narcosis, which is caused by nitrogen building up in your body and can make you feel and act as though you are drunk.
Jenny, one of the dive masters on the island was notorious for getting ‘narked’ really badly.  One of the scientists, an unpopular chap called Phil had a crush on her.  He had a big beard and talked about Warhammer incessantly.  She wasn’t even slightly interested in him and would become irritable because he would often just stand and stare at her.  On her birthday she was paired with him on a dive and she became very narcosed at about 35 metres.  She decided to take all her clothes off which meant she had to take her tank and weights off first.  This can be very dangerous because if you drop your kit you can’t breathe and you shoot to the surface without the counterweight.
He was particularly attentive as she swum about naked, unaware of what she was doing.  They made a safety stop at 3 metres; the reduced pressure allowing much of the excess nitrogen to leave her body and her face to turn bright red.'
